CMMi
CMMi is an acronym for Capability Maturity Model Integration and consist of set of guidelines which help an organization to establish and improve processes-based practices.
It comprised of multiple models and they are Development, Services, Supply Chain, People Management. All models are composed of Categories, Capability Areas, and Practice Areas. Each Category is associated with Capability Areas, and Capability Areas are associated with Practices, Summaries and Requirements.

CMMi mainly focus on following areas & includes;
- Improving business performance on operational and business goals I,e time, quality, budget, customer satisfaction
- Building agile resiliency with Scrum project processes and a focus on performance
- Reducing preparation time and lifecycle costs
CMMi Institute introduces new version CMMi Version 2.0 Model, has introduced new terminology and redefined the grouping of requirements into Category Areas, Capability Areas and Practice Areas.
This has four models (4) Category Areas, twelve (12) CMMI V2 Capability Areas and twenty-five (25) Practice Areas
CMMi V2.0 Category Areas
There are 4 Category areas that define practices for improved performance.
CMMi V2.0 Capability Areas
When an organization’s distinctive capabilities are clearly defined, everything and everyone within the organization begins to positively reinforce each other.
CMMi V2.0 Maturity Levels
In V2.0 practice areas apply at Maturity Level 3 (ML3) with specific additional required practice levels.
